I have never been an extremely girly girl. From an early age I was considered to be a tomboy by all of my friends and family. Being a tomboy is something I have never felt the need to drastically change. But as I got older I did see the need to tweak my image slightly. As an adult I lead a low maintenance, active lifestyle full of travel, sports and outdoor activity. I also have a great career, which means I have to maintain an air of professionalism. That meant shedding my tomboy ways somewhat without infringing on my low maintenance lifestyle. Starting with my hair, the perfect way to do this was to keep up a proper medium hairstyles.
A medium hairstyles has the versatility I need for my active lifestyle. It is long enough to create an elegant up-do if the situation calls for it, and also hang at the perfect length without getting in my way. Medium hairstyles do not take much looking after. In fact, depending on your hair type and cut, styling needs can be kept to an absolute minimum. I had my medium hairstyle cut into layers providing me the flexibility I require while attractively framing and adding a bit of definition to my slightly round face shape.
For my particular hair type, regular conditioning is a must, especially since I use heat to straighten my hair fairly frequently. Conditioning keeps my medium hair styles looking soft, smooth and manageable without having to worry about fly away pieces of hair. Medium length hairstyles really turned out to be the perfect option for me. I feel feminine but my hair rarely, if ever, gets in my way while engaging in sports or other outdoor activities and it is easy to maintain when I travel. For other women with similar needs and lifestyles, medium hairstyles may be the way to go
